How is the Trinity Alternate Program different than traditional junior high?
- Trinity Alternate Program allows students to re-engage in their learning and meets them where they are at, building the literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills that students will need for high school.
- Small, caring and understanding faith-filled school environment where students are accepted, encouraged, and treated with dignity.
- Less formal and structured than a traditional school. Individual learning plans are developed with student, caregivers, and school.
- Timetables and schedules are created with student, caregivers, and school, with the flexibility to support each individual’s learning.
Who would be the ideal learner to attend the Trinity Alternate Program?
- Students who have difficulty attending school due to mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression.
- Students who have had gaps in attendance through the pandemic and have had a hard time re-engaging in school.
- Students who have had difficulty socially engaging with peers, or who feel overwhelmed by large numbers of students in traditional classrooms and schools.
